Scepter

The Australian National University has a white and silver scepter, inherited from the oldest university in the English-speaking world, symbolizing the academic prestige of its presidents and chancellors.

The scepter was presented to ANU in 1950 by the University of Oxford and is identical to the university’s Oxford mace, crafted from gold by 18th century goldsmith Benjamin Pyne. Its white glow is due to a layer of silver plated on the outer layer.
